Additionally, subject to government approval, Alitalia will started codesharing with AeroMexico on the MEX-MAD route in order to feed their MAD-MXP and MAD-FCO flights.

A travel agent who is a friend of mine gave me a copy of the press release AZ gave them. By the way, Alitalia is not only codesharing on AeroMexico's MEX-MAD-MEX flight but also on AeroMexico's MEX-JFK-MEX to feed Alitalia's flights to MXP and FCO.

An A340 at 7 o'clock. Interesting! And Aeromexico and Alitalia codesharing also nice. But Aeromexico should take its chances and start to operate with its own aircraft to Milan. I guess there is a market. Mexicans do travel a lot!

MEX-MXP: I think they could start the route with their own equipment when they'll get the AF 777, and AZ helping AM filling them with codeshare agreement. The route could also work well due to the lot of tourist going to Mexico from Italy (I think they'll codeshare oon some internal routes, at least Cancun).
AZ has no possibility to open that route right now, due to equipment shortage and other priorities (they also promised to reopen at least PEK, HKG and SFO or LAX).
