Ok, hello all YYZ spotters and GTAE'ers, i was out at YYZ today for a while with Marc and the Captian joined us for awhile.

For starters Air 200 was on the sked with 2 chartered flights so i had to go out and see them. I missed the first flight but i got the second....here is a run down of some interesting aircraft that came in today!!

BA 744 started off the day:

Then to even mess us up a little more Air France brought an unusual bird to YYZ....

Yes a 767....not an A330 which they used here last winter a 67??

Then we finally saw the Air 2000 757 arrive, the first one must have arrived on 24R...

Yeah, AF is bringing the 763 into YYZ from Jan 14 through Feb 23.

I was supposed to be on AF on this route later this month and was notified me about the equipment swap. Thankfully the trip was cancelled, because I hear horror stories about their 767s.

Panam, TWA, Ansett, Eastern.......AC next? Might be good for Canada.

There was another EAL 742 came in later at around 21:10 at gate C-33. I believed the one you guys spotted was the one sitting at Gate C-30. As for AF, as far as I saw in the last couple of months, they usually flew A340 into YYZ and sometimes A330. Today, their 767 sat at C-32.

p.s. It was damn cold and windy out there today.

You are exactly right, they even said in the air "where are you parking" and they did say C-30 for the first one.

Neil, i know that the Air 2000 were charters from Newcastle and Brimingham.

EAL i have no clue whats going on there?????

I hadn't read anything about AF switching aircraft....the 67 looked realllllllllly dirty on the outside and i can imagine what it is on the inside. I bet those new A330's last year were a dream!!

The European 747 was a charter from Glasgow as it left glasgow over my house at 1900 UTC estimating YYZ at 0100 UTC so like 2000 local time toronto so that must have been the one, G-BDXF.

Thanks for the info! The GTAA site says the 2nd EAL 742 that arrived at 9pm ET was a charter from LGW.

I wonder what all these charters are for though?

I guess you could say we are gorilla's....we hang everywhere we can....?? But seriously, depending on the day, we like to mix up the locations....usually hang around the threshold of rwy 23, either at wendy's, or near there...??

Some times fedex, but more there in the summer when its warm. We are in the process of finding a new place to actually watch and not be bothered.

More info to come regarding the offical GTAE club.

Regarding the EAL, could it be a military charter? Last spring they did several military charters from England to YYC.

LOL Slawko! I actually did get hit by a fragment one day earlier in the summer... FedEx isn't great anymore thanks to the snowbank... But I think we should utilize T1 as much as possible before it's closed. It's very wierd to think that the view from there will be gone in less than a year.

A military charter is unlikely. Although it seems strange that 2 752's and 2 742's would arrive at YYZ within 24 hours. I was wondering whether AC or BA had a couple of mechanicals and they needed some lift....but this is also unlikely.

it would be even better if it was a YYZ farewell party

YYZ will never go away. Although it will continue to leave YUL behind.

I believe the EAL flights might have been inbound to pick up Canadian Hajj pilgrims. Don't have specific info on this though.

Neil, BA still had their flights on sked as usual that day...Marc and I saw the first one...as per the picture above...oh and Mark (flyyul) you have to admit when the new terminal is built....it will put YUL to shame....or what it will do is lead them to build a new Montreal airport that is actually going to get used!! And atleast they have an alternate if they close most of YUL down for Renovations!!

LOL.... YUL is pretty only half-functional right now due to construction. They've closed a good 1/3 of the gates..

You'll see when you come down this summer if you do..

The 747s should be G-BDXF routing LGW-GLA-YYZ on EAF 4094 and G-BDXH routing MAN-YYZ on EAF 4096.
