I know that they don't fly there so I can only guess that it was either a diversion or a chartered flight. I highly doubt that Gulf Air wanted to see how their plane would be handled in DUS prior to starting serving the airport on a regular basis. There has been too much bad news from DUS to believe that that might happen, would be great though!

Diversion together with a Continental 764 was due to
bad weather in FRA, where GF 017 in from Bahrain
would normally end!

I can imagine that the arrival of a CO 764 must have brought some tears to the eyes of the airport managers... Did anybody take a picture of the 767 aswell?

Registration was N67052, inbound of course from EWR.
I agree with you Max as CO stopped DUS operations
about a year ago now.
