GA quit the UAE sometime last year, they were serving the capital Abu Dhabi, but why havent they considered Dubai so far, Emirates operate 777s from there to Jakarta, so there should be demand. Also isnt the A330-200 more suited to GA for both medium and long haul services? last I heard they found the 747 too big for European services. Korean Air are making good use of their A332's on some European routes

There's not a lot of O/D traffic to Dubai from Indonesia... it's mainly labour traffic at low yields. GA to Saudi Arabia is to serve the labour, government and religious pax.
GA left Abu Dhabi years back after they cut most of the European flights leaving FRA, LGW and AMS to be served through SIN/BKK instead on the 744.
Most of the traffic on EK to Jakarta are cargo, and Europe through pax... and LOTS of CGK-KUL/SIN pax (since they're cheap and the holds have quite some cargo already!)
Garuda has no A332, only A333. Besides, Garuda is waiting for 3 more A333s and 6 772s... The A333 will be the principle medium hauler with the 772 for long hauls in general. The 3 extra A333s will replace current 4 742 routes... (Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong and Japan)...

Thanks for the Info Mandala499, I know GA operate the A333 but was wondering if the A332 would be better suited to them, but I guess the 777s will do that job. Do you anything about GA's Jordan service in the late 90's what market were they catering to?
