Meridiana 717 Maintenance, Why?

Meridiana has reportedly established a 717 maintenance...They don't have any 717 in the fleet and there are only a handful of 717's flying in Europe (3 Olympic and 4 Aebal). So why should they open a 717 maintenace center? What do you think? What are their plans?

Thought they we're looking at 738's to replace the MD's? Maybe Boeing have come up with an attractive package

They open a B717 maintenace center in according with Boeing for the main check in Europe on AeBal B717.
These maintenance operations will take place in Olbia.

Meridiana at the moment doesn't look to buy any B717.

Interesting, does it make sense to open a center for just 4 aircraft....?
Other rumours suggests that Meridiana is/was looking at the 717....they need a replacement for both the 146 and the MD-80's....
