America West Express began non-stop service between BIL, and PHX on the 27th of October last year. They are the only one to consistantly fill flights as far as I know. Their fares are not really that much lower. What makes them flourish?

Probably the the cheap operating costs of those CRJs, they currently are doing all right here in EUG, they have 3 times daily service to PHX and are starting new service to LAS, pretty exiting

I heard that they are doing so well there they are considering adding flights to LAS (nonstop) as well.

Can anyone back that up with some company info?

HP has a code-share with Big Sky, which has a small "hub" at Billings, so they're getting feed from all over Montana. That could be part of the reason for the route's success.

Indeed. Buts its not just Montana that feeds into the BIL hub (Big Sky). They serve the following locations:

Colorado: Denver
Idaho: Boise, Idaho Falls
Montana: Billings, Glasgow, Glendive, Great Falls, Havre, Helena, Kalispell, Lewistown, Miles City, Missoula, Sidney, Wolf Point
North Dakota: Bismarck, Williston
Washington: Moses Lake, Olympia, Seattle/Tacoma, Spokane
Wyoming: Casper, Gillette

 Smile

I remember even before HP express served BIL, if you looked up a fare on travelocity from say- Williston, ND to Phoenix, AZ; It would route you through ISN-SDY-BIL-DEN (Big Sky) then from DEN-PHX (HP mainline). Lol.. glad its more direct now...

Serge,

Big Sky stopped serving Idaho Falls earlier this month.
