... as the title says: Some thing just can get worse. Just flashing another pod of colour over the fuselage just to evaluate if it looks good. NO it doesn't.
That just looks, strange, weird, ugly and .. unfinished in my eyes!

I can only agree. There is nothing in this livery. A bleached and not appealling blue, but still the old SN tail. Any kid with a paint tool could have come up with something better. Even if it is not so, it seems so and this feeling is indicative.

Bring on some colour to the thing!

I can not agree!

I feel this is a smashing new concept!
Maybe it is something you have to get used to, (just like SAS livery) but the longer you look at it, the better its gets...
I am sure people will turn their heads on all airports of Europe if they see this plane passing by and thats a good thing of course!
It's very modern, and its goodbye to eurowhite à la LH, AF, LX, AU, .... without having been seduced to use those much used wavy fuselage lines (which look so cheap; only good for a charter airline)

Can't wait to see it on the Avro RJs and especially on our long haul A330s...

I don't like it very much. I preferred the past SN Brussels scheme. This one lacks something... maybe they should have painted the whole underbelly, not just stop before the cockpit. About the color... why not the same blue that appears on the tail?!?!

What I don't like on it is the conservative old Sabena stlye tail (does it remain there only as a last cryout to the faded Sabena?), the cheatline soon has it's renaisance in aviation design (So I hope) and so also isn't a bad style item. The baby-blue belly might llok good if combined with some other elements, but all these three things mixed together on one fuselage, just looks bad in my eyes.
AFAIK SNBA is not Sabena, so the either shoudl sy goodbye to the old Sabena days and get a new tail, or proudly should stick to their past, but not such a mix with the future-bound new CID and the past-hooked tail.

just my two cents.

Mario

SN's ATC callsign is "S-tail" so the chance of them ever getting something else on the tail than the Sabena S is virtually zero!

I don`t like the new SNBA livery very much. As Mario already mentioned above, the fuselage looks unfinished, it would look much better when it would be completely white.

Sabenapilot:

"De gustibus mulieribusque non est disputandum" as our Roman predecessors said. Ok, you like it & I don't. But I really think that you are pushing your appreciation a little too far when you refer to this livery as a "smashing new concept".

To be honest, I very much preferred SN's last livery. This looks unfinished, "ni chair ni poisson".

Good to see that those baby buses are now needed. Best of luck to the company!

Can't see what's so bad about these new colours - at least it is not just a white fuselage!

Disagree with the quote of the topic

Although the red stripe is not an added value at all, the new SN Brussels Airlines colourscheme is just beautiful. Distinguishing, a true improvement. Good job, congratualations to the designer!!

What disturbs me is the mix of old and new elements. I hope the cheatline in general get's a rennaisance on the design market within the next years, and the red line on that SNBA aircraft wouldn't look bad if used as a solitaire element, but in combination with the other two things it's just wrong in place.

Also this purple belly. Why does it end so apruptly? Sure it will look bad if farthened over the nose/radome ..but this "T" style thing where the aprupt end of the purple belly and the cheatline meet just looks 3rd calls design!

All in all, the whole SN Brussels Airline CID / Brand design is nothing round .. 3 mayor and minor livery changes within the last months, that just proof that there is no big spirit behind the airline. In my eyes they just care about "yes that looks cool" and forget about a "once created" Corporate ID, another passed chance, another spiritles standard people mover airline in the row of Alitalia, Air France & co.

Look at Swiss! Tyler Brulé never studied design and has created one of the most stylish and "classy" airline cultures in business that go far beyond the borders of design. Design is more than mixing colours with shapes, but that's another story!

just my two cents

BTW, Norbert, why do you change your nickname so often? AirOrange, Vipporbuddy, JetMark ... anything behind it? Just curious.

LH526,

"Look at Swiss! Tyler Brul?? never studied design and has created one of the most stylish and "classy" airline cultures in business that go far beyond the borders of design."

I'd love to look at Swiss, but it has snowed in ZRH, and so I can't even see a single plane....  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
Their planes are all white with just the name on the fuselage and a big swiss flag on their tail! I can immediately see why he didn't have to study design for that: that's just Eurowhite pushed to the limits!!!!

Anyway, like it or not, but it sure is something new!
Besides, it is not a red stripe, its a dark orange stripe and it definitely belongs there as the new Corporate Identity includes this line underneath the name and logo.

I think I will start to like it more and more when I see it in real...

@Cx flyboy:

Aircraft was too big to enter the hangar so they took the winglets off.

Dear LH526, dear Mario,

Thanks for sharing the beautiful SN-picture. Hope you're doing well by becoming a good designer in aviation. Well, about my several nicknames... I had a small amount of money left on my PayPal account and as I needed a good source to spent it to I thought I will sponsor Airliners.net. Until the money has vapourized I will return as AirOrange. Btw ViporBuddy has been deleted accidentily by one of my daughters... anyway there is nothing special behind my several nicknames.

Regards,
JetMark/AirOrange

Why does SNBA feel the need to come up with a new color scheme every day?
This is money that could be used better off elsewhere.

Not only that, but the design makes me want to puke.
