Lietuvos Avialinijos (Lithuanian Airlines, or LAL), the national air carrier, is set to launch regular flights to Brussels, the capital of Belgium and headquarters of the European Union, during its summer season starting Mar. 30.
The daily newspaper Lietuvos Rytas quoted Dalijus Zebrauskas, director of LAL's Sales and Marketing Department, as saying that the company is planning to start a regular service between Vilnius and Brussels if all goes well.
He noted, however, that the project has not been given final approval yet. LAL is yet to sign contracts for ground services and obtain certain warranties.
LAL intends to initially operate three weekly flights to Brussels, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, using its Saab 2000 aircraft.
