I just got back from FLL. The top of the Hibiscus Garage is not blocked off and it is wide open as it ever was. Even the spaces that were blocked off with rubber donkey dicks after 9/11 are open. There were no signs to indicate that anything has happened up there. I shot up there between Delta's terminal and the JetBlue/Southwest/Northwest/Continental terminal for over an hour without anyone coming around to question me. The "airport observation area" signs are still up.
As stated below, the west side viewing area has concrete jersey curbs across the road and a BSO deputy was sitting in his car there. They were in west operations today anyhow and the view park is almost useless for west ops. I drove all over the west side and the northwest corner and didn't see any barricades blocking anything off.

I just got back from the airport. Ft Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is now in full lockdown. The wood barriers that are put up overnight, have been replaced with 3 concrete barriers. The South East parking area that over looks Term 4 is closed off with concrete barriers. Most access roads are closed off with wood barriers or Police.
All of the good spots on the Level 7 spotting area were closed with cones and metal barriers, as were a large portion of parking spaces. (I did not stay because I'm sure I would have been run off)
This is most likely because the U.S. is under an Orange Alert, and I'm sure we'll hear about this at other airports.
(Hopefully the spots will reopen when we go back down to Yellow Alert, but I doubt it)

Sorry to hear about that. Arrived from Phoenix yesterday for what I hoped would be a few days of some good photography. What's the story with MIA ?? PHX was hit and miss, actually got chased away on Sunday from the parking lot by the police. Was in MEX a few weeks back with some good sun, great results and no problems.
My definition of cool ? Not trying so hard to be cool.

That is a good thing that the Hibiscus garage is still open on top. Actually when I was there about a month ago they had Spray Paint on the top where the Aircraft Viewing area was. That was a real treat to see that. Too bad if you are driving you have to pay for the parking.

MIA is still open. Viewing area off of 25th was jammed yesterday and
today. The viewing areas off Perimeter road on the south side are
still closed. You can only view planes on that side from the
parking lot at the 94th Aero Squadron restaurant
