I've recently heard that since the terrorist threat in the UK this week that the spotting area at the Elmdom building (Cargo area) at BHX is closed.

Does anyone know if the field at the back of the Tristar Hotel is still OK?

Also, anywhere at MAN affected?

I'm planning MAN for Saturday and BHX for Sunday so any info before then would be great.

Thanks in Advance

As for MAN, the top levels of the multistorey carparks have been closed, also increased police prescence around the airport.
Don't know what it's like on the perimeters, but no doubt security will be onto people hanging around.

The viewing park at MAN is still open but with extra security.

Should be an Emirates 777-300 in tomorrow (and a fair number of biz jets as well).

What about the areas around the new runway, any problems there? The two ends round there is where I'll be heading tomorrow.

Thanks for the info David, look forward to the Emirates inparticular.

Well, looks like the area around the new runway is closed off!!!  Crying

Trying to find info on BHX, the field behind the Tristar and the long stay car park area in particular if anyone has info.
I'll have to go there instead!

The area by the Tristar Hotel has been closed, but the field next to terminal 2 and the aviation experience are still open i think.
