What Has Happened To Varig's 777s?

A few days ago it was stated that one of Varig's 777s was impounded by it's lessors. Has this dispute over none payment of their lease been resolved? Also, what has happened to the other 777. Is it flying "safely" in country?

Its been re-leased to Varig with different terms. They were able to come up with some sort of arrangement to pay for it.

I heard that Varig paid ILFC what was owed and both 777s are flying normally now.

it is worth mention that those will be the only 777s in Varig colors for a while now... the other 4 outstanding were cancelled  Sad

That is extremely dissapointing. It always seems that the airline is on the verge of "making" it and then hits the skids again. They operated 747-400s for a few years then returned them and continued to operate 747-300s.

What routes are the airlines 777s used on? With only 2 of them, it must be pretty hard day in day out?

They're used domestically, as well as GRU-CDG-AMS-CDG-GRU

Yes, the remaining 4 were cancelled.
