Searching for my flight to Tokyo later this year with SQ, I stumbled over various options at their website.
Of course they offered BNE-SIN-NRT return with SQ which was the standard.
But then the third option was BNE-SYD on British Airways operated by Qantas, and SYD-SIN-NRT.
Now I thought this was a little interesting and I didn't realize that SQ had co-operated with BA/QF from the OneWorld Alliance.
What is up with this? I would have thought SQ would cooperate with DJ since Ansett's collapse.

Thank you for the response, that does make sense now.
And it is true that QF is not a low cost carrier and thus must be more favourable than DJ. I just never realized they would make an unofficial agreement like that
