Benin-based West African Airlines will take delivery of two leased Boeing 727-200 Advanced from JAT starting the end of this month. The second plane will start flying in African colors March 15th. The leasing agreement is intended for one year, with a contract prolongation available. The planes will be accompanied by flight crew and maintenance staff.
Its really nice to hear that these phenominal birds will continue to fly. Apparently the technical base will be in Cotoun, and the planes will mostly operate on the western coast of Africa. The aircraft in question are the YU-AKK and YU-AKI, hence the last two operating 727s in JAT.
