America West Announces Additional Flights Between Its Phoenix Hub and Four Cities.
Flights Added in Pittsburgh; Cleveland, Ohio; Billings, Mont.; and Medford, Ore.

America West Airlines' (NYSE: AWA) business-friendly fare structure is creating so much demand that the airline is adding more flights in four of its markets. Today, America Westannounced that it will add new daily, roundtrip, nonstop flights between its Phoenix hub andthree of its newest destinations including Billings, Mont.; Medford, Ore.; and Pittsburgh.The new flights will begin in April and May. Service in those cities was initiated inOctober of 2002. America West will also add a third daily nonstop flight between Phoenixand Cleveland, Ohio, in May. The airline initiated service to Cleveland in 1997.
"Travelers tell us they're thrilled to finally have affordable fares with flexibleticketing policies after paying the exorbitant fares charged by high-cost airlines forso many years. That's important feedback because customer support is essential for thecontinued success of our business-friendly fare structure," said J. Scott Kirby,executive vice president, sales and marketing. "We're excited to provide these additionalflights to meet customer demand for our service."
The additional flights give business travelers even more opportunities to take advantageof America West's business-friendly fares that eliminate the Saturday night stay requirement andinclude fares up to 70 percent lower than most other major airlines. Customers will be able toconnect through Phoenix to dozens of destinations across the western U.S., Canada and Mexico.
Flights to and from Billings and Medford will be provided by America West Express, whichis operated by subsidiary airlines of Mesa Air Group and will utilize the popular 50-seatCanadair Regional Jet. The new flights to and from Pittsburgh and Cleveland will be providedby America West Airlines utilizing Airbus A319 aircraft, which feature seating for 12 in firstclass and 112 in the main cabin.

The Express planes based in Columbus are ERJs owned by Chautauqua - those should get transferred to the DL Express operation that is contracted to Chautauqua.
The flights to BIL and MFR will be operated by Mesa CRJs.
