SN Brussels Airlines has a new spokesman, he will give the employees, the press and us members of A.net forum all the updated news about SNBA.  Big thumbs up

It's someone we all know because he is a A.net forummember himself.  Wink/being sarcastic

I will pay a pint at the first one how guesses right who it will be.  Smokin cool

@ SNBA employees you are not aloud to participate as you know it already via our internal communications (so Flying Belgian and Luchtzak no hints, and if you really want a good cold J....er, I will pay you one in BJL, DKR, CDG, VIE (pitchers) or whatever).  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Good luck for the contest.

@ to our new spokesman: welcome aboard SN Brussels Airlines and wish you happy work hours behind your desk or in front of the cameras and happy flights.  Laugh out loud

Is it really Pressclub? You're joking! I mean, all I knew was that the new spokesman is from Belgium. Pressclub was just the first Belgian member who came to mind. Sorry MD-11er for my quick reply and the quick end of your contest.

Hello!
congratulations pressclub  Wink/being sarcastic

well nice written on the SNBA site
"... aged 31, started his career as a freelance journalist for Public Radio (VRT, Radio 1). In 1993 he joined the newspaper “De Morgen” and specialized in aviation, transport and tourism news. He has also written books relating to the airline industry, contributed to the tourism trade magazine “Travel Express” and participated in the prestigious US Department of State / White House Program for Foreign Visitors. In 2001, he was elected president of the Belgian Aviation Journalists Association “APC”.
"

but the former news are interesting, too - sorry little bit off topic to THIS thread but worth to mention

"SN Brussels Airlines changed its pricing structure on the routes Brussels-Munich and Brussels-Vienna on 13th February 2003.
This new pricing initiative is the result of listening to customers’ feedback and using this to create new attractive offers.
All our customers will benefit from these changes: they will be able to enjoy these competitive prices while continuing to experience the full service and advantages of SN Brussels Airlines flights.
Improvements
The main improvements to our pricing are:
· One-way fares in both Economy & Business Class
· Significantly more competitive fares!
Week end fares in Economy class € 77 one way between BRU and MUC and € 87 one way BRU/VIE
· Change of reservation possible for all fare types at a fee of €25 (free of charge for Business Class fares and Flex-Y-Time)
This key step illustrates SN Brussels Airlines’ flexibility and determination to offer the very best mix of high quality service and value for money."
and what I saw not even on weekends to THIS two destinations also the one-way fares under the week are very competitve, and it's a full-frill carrier, I'm currently thinking about using it on second or third of march  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

well, again best wishes to pressclub  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Ciao Jumbolino (Jutta).

Kind Regards, Jutta.

That's no problem.

I only have one problem, how am I going to pay you a pint?
We don't fly to STR anymore sine SNBA.

-So I can pay it you either in MUC or SXB as we still have a nights top there.
-You come over to FRA, DUS or CDG as I go often to there for spotting
-You come to the spotting meeting in BRU on the 10th of April.

http://www.airliners.net/discussions/general_aviation/read.main/1022494/

In any of the cases I will be glad to pay you a pint. Or even two as you guesses so quickly.

 Laugh out loud

Good news to MD-11er: I don't drink any alcohol.
I thought about joining you at BRU in April, but I have to wait for my April duty rotation until I can book a flight - on LH CityLine unfortunately, I would prefer SNBA of course. If I make it to BRU on 10 April, I'm going to donate that beer to Jutta or Patrick.

Already he starts to sell the crap he always questioned, investigated and criticized himself.

If they don't make it, you will find a lot of other guys who will be glad to take your donation with both hands as Belgians are real beer drinkers.
But of course you choose who I will have to pay the beer for. Unless you want to drink something else, a coke, a sprite a hot chocolate....

Hi Alex,
I'd a quick look onto my calender it's a thursday so I cannot promise it at all but I'll try it (please can you send an old lady an email 2 weeks before ?)
and as I mentioned before their fares for MUC and/or VIE are incredible low for full-frill this days and I'll enjoy the beer instead of you (but if Patrick can do it and he'll have it .... I'm gentlelady  Smile

I have a suggestion: if Pressclub has time the 10th of April, he can come to BRU, and than we can drink our pint together with him to celebrate his new job  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

MD-11er gives a 'tourné générale' the 10th of April, he already told me via email  Wink/being sarcastic

Congrats Pressclub. I guess in future we will know when you quote an "inside source" who it is  Laugh out loud

Pothiabs makes a very interesting, and somewhat valid point. On another unrelated thread I made a statement that journalists are the "Cigarette butts of life". Of course some people didn't take too nicely to comment, but I think Pothiabs comment basically explains it. It seems, to me anyway, that journalism is another of those "sell-out" professions. As Pothiabs mentions, Pressclub is now saying the exact same stuff he has criticised in the past; the difference? In the past he was being paid to opinionate and criticise; now he is being paid to shut up.

Not a profession I would want to partake in for a second.

Good luck though!  Laugh out loud

According to the SNBA press release, you have written aviation books. I didn't know that. Can you tell us more about that? What books did you write?

Thanks!

@Michael:

Pressclub wrote two books.

1) The crash of Sabena (in Dutch: the history of Sabena + a big analyse of the last 12 years with special attention to the SN/SR case)

2) A photobook of Sabena, with a selection of pictures out of the very big Sabena archive, all with useful explanations, and with attention to the several aspects of our 'national pride' that once was.

Frederic
