As mentioned, AA has received 77 of their order of 120 738's. Through about 2015, AA has options for over 450 738's. The last 738 to be delivered was in December 2001. Since then, Qantas took a number of the 738's that were to be delivered to AA, while the others have been deffered at least through 2004. AA will not take delivery of any 738's this year, the only aircraft they will receive are 9 763's and 2 777's. In the long run, AA will likely go to an all 737NG fleet for its narrowbody flying.
