What is the philosophy behind Air Pacific Fiji's very modest aircraft livery design? Was it designed like this on purpose, was it just a smart move in matter of costs saving? I think this airline could make more out of it's identity elements without becoming fossy. I'm looking forward to your comments.

FJ's old scheme was a case of love it or hate it. There was no in between on it, that's for sure !!
I'm reasonably sure (dragging stuff from the dark and cloudy recesses of the old brain matter - and yeah, yeah, okay I confess - after a couple of beers as well !!) that they had to dump the broad banded "rainbow" scheme when they started taking delivery of their 737's. That scheme just did not transfer well onto them at all, even in ratio.
Having said that, there is no love it or hate it with the new scheme. It is a real shocker and as far as I know, was a deliberate design. Kept the trademark rainbow colours, but they may as well not have bothered.
Something a la Air Jamaica and Air Tahiti Nui is more in keeping with a south pac carrier than the vanilla milk bottle they've got now.
