I am going on a Trip to Dublin and I am trying to find cheap Business Class tickets for the summer, if anyone can help me in the manner, please say in this post. It must be in the Summer. Dates aren't crucial.
Please note that flights between London Gatwick / Boston and vice versa, are subject to government approval. These flights will be operated by Boeing 747-200 aircraft leased by Virgin Atlantic from Air Atlanta. However, you can expect the same high level of service as our regular operated flights, including full Virgin Atlantic livery, our own crew and award winning entertainment.
(This is what I got looking for BOS-LGW on Virgin)

To the best of my knowledge, LGW-BOS is operated by a 747-400.

There is no LGW-BOS service at the moment. If it starts it will be a 747-200.

There are 5 Virgin routes that could possibly use the 747-200 this summer: LGW-BOS, LGW-The new Caribbean destinations, LHR-DEL, LHR-LOS and MAN-MCO. An A343 displaced by the A346s will operate the new LGW-Port Harcourt route.

Didn't this happen before. Saw a photo in AW of a 742 in VS livery (although white fuselage, instead of silver). I seem to remember it being an ex-VS machine? Maybe wrong.
Sorry too lazy to do a photo search for it!  Big thumbs up

Hi

Virgin will operate 2 Air Atlanta 747-200's this summer which are both ex-VS. One will operate MAN-MCO-MAN as before. The other will operate a Monday LGW-TAB-GND-TAB-LGW service commencing 5 May and a Wed-Sun LGW-BOS-LGW service commencing 8 May.

Cheers

Virgin were really ready to rock before you-know-when. All those -200s from Cathay, Air NZ et al, with new frequencies and the Gatwick-San Francisco route. I hope they make it back, although in view of Dubya's desire for WW3, the renaissance may not happen (again). In fact will VS even survive this war? Trans-Atlantic traffic will entirely evaporate in the coming months. I feel a new thread coming on.

Hi UN B732

The decision was made to get rid of the Classics after Sept 11th. With the reduction in the amount of flying it was not deemed economical to keep a fleet of one or two 747-200's on Virgins AOC with all the associated costs (flight deck crews, engineering spares, etc)

Also, it was not the intention to use Classics at all, but because a) the A340-600's are late being delivered and b) the market has recovered after 9/11 quicker than expected there is a need for some extra capacity.

Cheers
