Justplanes.com is reporting an event last night at the Mumbai airport were a Air India Boeing 747 has to return to Mumbai after departing for Jeddah on a ferry flight. They say something happened with the engine.
Does anybody have anymore info. on what happened and what aircraft type and reg. it was? How come Air India was doing a ferry flights to Jeddah.

AI is operating between 5-7 daily flights to Jeddah to bring back Hajj pilgrims, mainly with 747s. The aircraft route BOM-JED (ferry), JED-xxx, and xxx-BOM (ferry).
I believe that the aircraft in question was VT-EGC, but I'm not certain. She was parked in the hangar at BOM when I landed about an hour ago.
