That is indeed good news, far better than having their planes chopped up. Ansett was a great airline with a long heritage and it is good to see that some of its planes are now enjoying second leases on life elsewhere.

A bit off -topic i know but what's happened with Ansett Air Freight??? Are they still up and running??? They had a few dedicated freighters 146's and 727's such as VH-RMX,VH-JJZ,VH-JJY. Are they still flying the freight?

Pity the dumb press cannot even get the name of the airline right.

Air Albania? I thought the airline's name was Albanian Airlines (unless this is a new airline?).

"ADMINISTRATION costs have topped $300 million, including at least $33 million in management fees."

is the bit that caught my attention.

The B727s operate PER-MEL, ADL-MEL-SYD-BNE, MEL-HBA and I think BNE-CNS.

The 727's definitely do NOT come into Adelaide. I haven't seen a 727 come into YPAD since AN last operated one here back in early '97. It's a pity really because i so wanna see one again! We used to get the IPEC DC-9's into YPAD on a regular basis but that stopped in '99. Sad

That's right, as if National Jet would let another operator's jet freighter in on their turf!

TAAE's webpage says very little about their routes.
A -277F is based in Perth, a -77F in Hobart and a -277F in Cairns as far as I've seen.

Hey AJ you seem to be in the know so i'll ask you another question Smile In regards to National Jet Systems what do they use their 146's for??? I know some are leased out to QF for Qantaslink,Southern Australia etc. but what about the rest of the 146's in NJS blue and white livery??? What are these 146's used for, charter??? I sometimes see them flying over inbound from Perth/Darwin it would seem? VH-NJD is always around the Adelaide area.

National Jet Systems conduct RPT on behalf of Qantaslink, regular charters for resource companies (you probably see the regular Adelaide-Moomba aircraft, Dash 8 or BAe146), Coastwatch and freight runs on behalf of AaE.

Do the Hobart and Cairns aircraft rotate as the -77F seems to be in Cairns as much as the -277F?
