Ive heard that UA First Suites cost $200,000 each...on a related note I saw on a TV special about business jets that the cost of a single seat on those planes, let me say that again, a single seat, costs up to $40,000 to make...crazy...

then again, at say, $3000 for long haul FC means that those $127,000 seats are paid for in about 7 weeks.

127,000 / 3000 = ~42 trips @ 1 trip a day / 6 days a week flying = 7 weeks.

good deal if you ask me.

The following photo appeared today on airliners.net:

=====================================
"Varig - Boeing 777-2Q8/ER

The first class cost U$6 millions for each Varig's 777...
The first class has only 6 seats, so do the math and
find out how much each one of these seats cost...

The description said "U$6 million"..... not sure if that's

are rather plain...  Sad

Actually, that is the picture that inspired me to make this post, but maybe it was a mistake, I doubt EACH seat would cost that much!

I originally thought maybe the guy meant 6 millino in
Brazil's currency.... but that will still mean each seat
cost more than $250,000 in U.S. dollars!  Smile

For much less than 250.000 you can buy the top of the line Mercedes Benz.. They have at least 2 seats with power everything.. And also a DVD/LCD/GPS.. And of course a car.. If I had an airline.. I would buy a Mercedes and just use the seats.. !!  Smile

UA First Suite seats do not cost nearly that much. They are in the $25,000 range according to a maintenance official at SFO who does interior refittings. They are mostly plastic, anyhow.
