I am flying into JFK in June but I have a pick up at EWR. I couldn't fly into EWR as I'm going with Korean Airlines, (doing 5 days in Korea). My trip is MEL to JFK via ICN.
anyway what is the cheapest way to get across the 2 airports, i know the chepaest would be walking but i dun think so. Time isn't such a big issue as I arrive just before 12pm and there are pick ups for me at 3pm and 5pm.

hmm,
how about this, take NJ Transit from EWR / KEWR), USA - New Jersey">EWR to Penn Station ($12) then the "A" train to Howard Beach ($1.50 or $2 depending when they raise the fares- there if they haven't already) there is a free shuttle bus from the Howard Beach Subway Station to JFK.

If you are arriving late at night try to haggle with some limo drivers. Most of them are desperate for fares by that time. If you can find someone who wants to take you for $25-$30, go for it. I've twice done this from EWR to Manhattan, once for $20 and the other time for $25 (in a stretch!). The public transportation option mentioned above will cost you around $20, and take around 2-2.5 hours.

There is also a direct shuttle between EWR and JFK. Don't know the name and the cost...maybe someone can help!

The quickest way to go would be to take a cab from JFK to the Jamaica LIRR station, then grab a LIRR train to NY Penn Station.
At NY Penn Station grab any NEC or North Jersey Coast Line NJ Transit train that has the designation (EWR), that indicates that it stops at the Newark Airport station.
You can even take Amtrak from NY Penn Station to EWR, it costs $20.

The "Airporter" runs a direct shuttle between JFK and EWR. It runs every hour and is $24. Here is a link to their website which lists the schedule and all other pertinent information. This is the quickest and easiest way.

The VERY CHEAPEST way (but most likely not the fastest depending on what time of day) would be to take a NJTransit train to Newark Penn ($6.80), then take the PATH train to the 9th Street station in Manhattan ($1.50), then walk 4 blocks south on 6th Avenue and pick up the New York subway "A" train to JFK (will be $2.00 in June). There is a Port Authority shuttle bus from the JFK subway station to the terminals.

Cheapest way is the NJTransit bus 62 to Newark Penn Station. It runs every 20? minutes or so during the day, costs maybe $1.25?, takes 20-25 minutes.
Then the $1.50 PATH train runs every 10? minutes to Manhattan, then the A train to Howard Beach. So at present the total cost is not more than $4.25.

not necessarily the cheapest, but the best way to get to JFK from EWR is through another airport.

Note that currently, the A train doesn't go to JFK because of some repairs.. you need to take the train, and then transfer to a shuttle bus which departs every 30 minutes, which connects to the original station where there is another bus for the terminal.. takes a long time and is not really worth it at the moment..
cockpit? it's that little room in the front of the plane where the pilots seat.. but that's not important now

Or get a Car Service, costs about the price of a cab, and is much more comfy.
best options are either Tel Aviv Car Service (212)-777-7777
or Carmel Cae Service (212)-666-6666
there is another compnay called Bell, but i don't remember the nunber.

I'm guessing bell is 212-555-5555, judging by the repetitivness of the numbers.

Actually we're all wrong... the ABSOLUTE CHEAPEST would be if somebody picked the guy up at EWR and drove him to JFK. If I had a car I'd consider doing it, but living in Manhattan, I don't need one. Maybe STT757 would volunteer.

Oh sure,
.70 Garden State Parkway, $6 Outerbridge, $7 Varrazano Narrows Bridge,
Then once I pick him up,
$5-6 Queens Mid-town tunnel, $1.00 NJ Turnpike.
It's cheaper to take a cab to Jamaica station, then the LIRR to Penn , then NJ Transit to EWR.

Hey, I said cheaper for him, not you.
You know, I just realized something from your post... this thread title says from EWR to JFK, but you're right, he's actually going the other way. Well, then I'd probably suggest taking a Port Authority airport bus to the Port Authority bus terminal and then switching to another bus to EWR (or walking over to Penn and catching a NJTransit train).

He could also rent a car, perhaps Hotwire would have a dirt cheap day rate.
