What class of service? What aircraft?

A Y seat on one UA plane is not the same as a Y seat on another.

Y class is typically coach or economy class...

I found the coach seats on the NW Airlink ARJ's really nice - as wide as a domestic first class.

Y seats on United SUCK! ('coz of the legroom)

I though Lufthansa's and Air Malta's were quite good. (pitch and comfort wise)

I also like the old SAA 747's which had 34" pitch in Y class - very roomy

SQ's economy seats are really comfy but their legroom is a little stingey!  Smile

As for J Class: I'd have to go with the NEW SQ or BA beds! (or even CX for that matter)

I found that Air Canada's new Y Class seats are really nice with movable headrests and footrests.

Anything in coach with a winged headrest is quite nice. At least then I can kinda try napping. Though I find all coach seats need more padding.

This is very bias, but Qantas' 'Slimline' Economy seats are the best.

The headrests are very comfy and the seat supports your back well.

I still love the seating arrangement they used on the C-130's (I think thats what they were) to transport the terrorism suspects to Cuba. That strapped to the floor with bed sheets look was great. I wonder if they did the safety lecture for them?

You should try the seats of the German airline "DeutscheBA". The black leather-seats of DeutscheBA are very comfortable. The best airline-seat I've ever used!! Unfortunately the airline has no good future. But I hope that they will survive because I will use the seats again and also you  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
