Is Eva air allowed to do this? The reason I ask is in the caser on an Iraq war, I noticed Thai airways has changed its Asia-Europe routings to overfly SOuthern China and Russia. I am flying Eva Air LHR-BKK in 2 weeks and was wondering if EVA would also be taking this route, or would it be more likely that we fly over the Southern Arabian Peninsular and over Southern India?

I used to think the brain is the most fascinating part of my body. But, hey, who is telling me that?

It's rather the southern route! Russia is charging horrendous ATC fees for overflights hence I guess the southern route will be flown. PR China is basically at war with Taiwan and I do not believe that this is changed "just because of another war".

The nonstop FRA-TPE flight on CI takes one hour longer than a connection via HKG, so I assume they can't use Chinese airspace.

My cousin flew CDG-TPE and TPE-BKK-AMS on BR in December, he told me that they have not overflown Chinese airspace.

What about other airlines? Are they allowed to use Chinese airspace when they are flying to/from Taiwan?

CI nor BR overfly China airspace. Most other carriers have no problem doing this.

Yes - Eva Air flies to HK, which is in China airspace. So obviously they can overfly in some circumstances.

Lutfi, HKG is not considered to be China in aviation terms! Or did you ever see any BR aircraft at other chinese Airports?
