I believe the -11 signifies the engine type installed on the aircraft (CFM-56 I think?)... the -2 in your example signifies thats its an A320-200 series (as opposed to A320-100 series)

The first number is the type in that family ie A330-343..3XX would be an A330-300 the X4Xis Rolls Royce, and the last number usualy means the model which XX3 means IGW A330.

I think the Engine codes are
0---->GE
1---->CFM
2---->PW
3---->IAE
4---->RR

The last number is the specific engine based first cronologically when the engine was introduced on the type, and then the engine revision.

A3nn-nnnX means IGW.

For example, an A330-303X is an A330-300 IGW with GE CF6-80E1A3 engines. An A330-301 is an A330-300 with GE CF6-80E1A2 engines.

There is also manufacturer code 6 for the GE-PW Engine Alliance.

If you want to know more about Airbus aircraft and version numbers, you can try my spare time project Plane-Spotter.com. For now I'm ready with the single aisle Airbus aircraft (A32X), and you can find them here: http://www.plane-spotter.com/Aircraft/Airbus/index.htm
