Dank u, Skippy!
Incidentally, I wrote to KLM about aircraft names for the 332s not so long ago and got a very nice reply back. They say they will be choosing a name series sometime in 2004 (I suggested famous naturalists); the first aircraft will be delivered in 2005.
Given that Boeings are registered B.. (eg, BFA, BXA, BZA, etc.) and the A310s were registered PH-AG., presumably the A330s will have something in the PH-A.. series. If you have the Dutch civil register to hand, do you know if there are any gaps in that?

the dutch register is online @ www.scramble.nl/nedreg.htm
the ph-ao series has no entries,
no ph-aq either.. but don't think that one is uses
no ph-az
but klm used to play a little with those reg's..
the 737 are partly registered in this way:
ph - b(oeing) d(rie) .
that D stands voor Drie what meens Three in dutch as in seven three seven.
so for the a330's.. something like
ph-A(irbus)D(rie) . or
ph-A(irbus)T(hree) . would be nice.. but those are taken.
lars
ps:
but i really don't understand why they choose
ph-BQ for the 777's.. where does that Q stands for?
or
ph-CK for the 74ERF's..
C for cargo maybe,.. but K?

Who's taken the PH-AD and AT lines?
I know only of the AH line which is used by Air Holland.
They couldn't use BZ because that's taken for the 767 aircraft and there will be too many 777s most likely to just use the remaining places there (or who knows, they may want an open option to get more 767s anyway).
Similar for the 747-400ERFs, the BF line is filled completely as is the older BU line (why U anyway, BV would be more logical).

the ad and at line's aren't taken by a airline but by some individual a/c owners.
from scramble:
Registration
Aircraft type
Construction no.
Year of manufacture
Max. take-off weight
Owner/Holder name
Owner/Holder city
CofA number
CofA expiry date
