Does anyone know what the fate of the TWA terminal at JFK will be? I know it is now abondoned, but will they redevelop it or demolish it, etc??

I heard it was going to become a dedicated jetBlue terminal...another rumor I heard was they were going to make it into a conference center.

Either way, it is on the list of US Historic Landmarks, and thus cannot be demolished.

Are they going to keep the TWA sign on it?

at the moment it is lighted in bright red every evening..

cockpit? it's that little room in the front of the plane where the pilots seat.. but that's not important now

Prior to 9-11 it was to become part of a new terminal for Jet Blue and UAL, it included tearing down Terminal 6 and the gates and concourses of Terminal 5. Keeping the core structure of Terminal 5 as part of the new terminal.

However that plan is shelved, permenatley.

It's not going to be torn down, but it's not likely to be used substantialy for years.

They removed the gates, and it's vacant.

Untill the aviation industry picks up again nothing is likely to be done with the building.

"makes much more sense to live in the present tense"

I think STT757 is correct:
