Why Has This Picture Been Viewed So Much?

When looking over the most popular photos, most of them make sense (photos of a/c at Kai Tak or SXM). But one of the most viewed photos is of a Northwest RJ, viewed, at last count, 205,186 times! Is this a glitch? Why would this one photo be among the most popular of all time? It's not a bad photo, but over 205,000 times?! Any ideas?

Was it their first CRJ?

No idea, just a guess.

There are one or 2 other threads that address this, but I don't know which ones offhand. Basically the photo was linked to by a major publication of some type I believe, hence the large number of views. I remember reading in one of those other threads that the actual photographer raised his concerns with site administration about the number of hits being an anomaly due to the external linkage. In all fairness though if it was linked and the people came then the hits are legit and hence it stays high in the rankings.

It was linked to some popular travel website (I believe). It got a lot of extra views because of that.

This shot of mine and a few of Joe Pries's shots were linked to some freaky porno website in Spain (I can't speak for Joe, but I sure as hell don't mind!  Big thumbs up )

If you look carefully, there's a woman in seat 4F who's flashing her boobs. That's why everyone's looking at this pic.  Wink/being sarcastic

Hey Justin, at least they also posted a picture of you, does that make up for no photo credits?

Flyf15:

Good pick-up on that AN-124 in the background. Didn't even notice it, but you're absolutely right! There it is! Don't think it explains the photo's popularity, though.

DIA:

You must be French.  Big grin

Dazed767:

Just checked out the porno site (just to see the Airliners.net photo, of course). You really should sue, because all the photos on A.net are copyrighted, and their use without permission is punishable by fines of up to $200,000 and you personally could get a lot of money out of a civil suit. After all, they're making money with something a.net provides for free.

During these times. . .I must clarify: French, no. Italian, yes. But I did get the joke.

Cheers,
