A woman on Question Time (BBC1, British Broadcasting Corporation), complained that Jack Straw went on Concorde and Tony Blair went on a 747 to Camp David.

She was corrected by Geoff Hoon - Minister of Defence, saying that they both travelled togehter.

They actually travelled a 777 in the livery of the UK's largest airline.

If she'd been a panel member claiming to be an expert in aviation, I think you might just have a point.

As it is, she wasn't; she was a member of the audience who was putting through a basic (if flawed) comment about Government travelling expenses.

Is this really what A.net is about? Picking up on insignificant, irrelevant errors like anally-retentive geeks and then using up bandwidth to scoff?

I'm glad I'm not paying first-class membership fees for this level of discussion...

And people on here wonder why the UK has not got a dedicated VIP transport, see the shit they'd take!
The woman clearly just had a bee in her bonnet about Blair, or the war, and spoke before engaging her brain.
Bit like the Labour left winger who castigated Blair for spending the entire social security budget in bombing the Serbs, (this budget in 1999 was £90 billion, total defence budget was £23 billion).
Blair swatted her like a fly.

Well, that explains your username...

Immigration officer: "What's the purpose of your visit to the USA?" Spotter: "Shooting airliners with my Canon!"
