Are any cabin crew wearing face masks to protect themselves from Sars? (The scary new respiratory disease). As if the aviation world did not have enough problems already, this seems like a major new concern.

Don't know about pilots, but here in Hong Kong over 70% of the people that you see on the street wear a mask.
All public transport drivers wear a mask (or two).
Personally, once you're on the plane with SARS then the whole plane's done. The authorities are still looking for passengers the flights with suspected SARS carrier (passengers), and IIRC they are CA112 and 114 of 21Mar, CA111 of 25Mar, CX510 of 25Mar (I just typed those flights out of my head and someone must have more accurate information).

Brings to mind all carriers with Asian routes as to how they are going to deal with such a problem. Bankrupt carriers such as United, must be very alarmed since their cash-cow Asian routes are now at huge risk.

I just canceled my trip on United to Singapore via Hong Kong. United let me change my reservations with no penalty, so I changed my trip and will go to Anchorage, Alaska, instead. Being a teacher, I wouldn't want to take a chance on picking up SARS and passing it along to my students. I hated to give up my trip to Singapore, because it is one of my favorite places to visit, but I just can't justify taking a chance right now.
