Hi everyone!
I really want to go to SXM! It looks fantastic!
If you've been to SXM, who'd you fly with? I know that Air France fly there, but do any British airlines fly there?

I've been there, as a Flight Attendant, and I must say, it is GORGEOUS!!!!! I flew there with Ryan Int'l, operating for vacation companies here in Michigan, but I dunno who else really goes there.. Why not check BA? I THINK they go there..

Prinair Convair 580 from SKB, ALM DC-9-51 from SJU, Eastern A-300 from MIA, Winair Twin Otter from AGU (Anguilla). I much prefer the French side.

I flew to SXM back in 1996 and 1998. First time was a BWI-SXM direct flight on USAir. I don't think that one is still around. I remember it well because it was an absolutely disgusting February day when we took off from BWI. Exact opposite of course in SXM.
The second time was on an AA flight from Miami in 1998.

Sorry, I have a few (non-aviation) questions about SXM.
- Is there something like a border between the French and the Dutch side?
- What currency is in use on the island?
- Are Dutch and French the official languages?

Forgot to mention. Have flown into SXM from St. Barths a couple times as well. WinAir twin Otter and Air Guadeloupe ATR. Talk about exciting take-off and landings- all within 10 minutes!
As for international carriers (non-US). I only remember KLM and AF (but there were several charter guys as well).

No obvious border, just a sign...like travelling between U.S. states. The Dutch side uses the Netherlands Antilles Florin and the French side uses the Euro but U.S. $ is common. Dutch and French are the official languages but English and Papiemento are common as well.

I flew there by AF A340. Afterwords I took a Winair flight with Twinotter to SBH and AXA. Fantastic island. That were wunderful days with a beer in the hand, waiting at Maho Beach for the incoming jetliners!

I have never visited SXM but have been on BWIA planes which stopped over on services from KIN to POS. So yes, I have experienced that world-famous descent from within the plane (MD83s).

I've been to SXM twice. Once when I was so small I couldn't remember. Last time was a few years ago during the winter, Northwest Airlines operated nonstop there with a 757. Very nice flight!

Princess Air...errr....Cruise Lines. It was about two years ago, we made a stop at St. Maarten after Antigua. My parents went to Orient Beach, and I took a cab over to Maho.

I did it non-rev aboard US Airways. The aircraft was a 757. I stayed at the Royal Islander, right next to the airport. Unbelievable photo opportunities! It sure is a shame I suck with a camera!
