All Nippon Airways is to reduce capacity on routes to and from Hong Kong because of the spread of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS).

One daily flight will be suspended from Tokyo Narita to Hong Kong between 8 April 2003 and 30 April 2003.

A spokesman for ANA said that only 40% of seats were being booked and the airline has followed others by steralising aircraft and handing out masks to passengers and crew.

Wonder if they've cancelled meal/snack/beverage service too, if they offered it on this route. "Here's a mask so you don't die. Our meal selections today will consist of..."

Anyone see the issue here?  Smile

N754pr: You remind me of a certain former member of the a.net forums (you probably know who he is). There is a remarkable similarity.

Anyway, sadly, this is expected as the SARS outbreak is taking its toll on Hong Kong’s travel business.

N521NA,

How are you today  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Hkg82,

If you like Singapore_Air posting non-stop negative news about your home town thats OK with me, but I don't like it.

As for your question, I assume you implying the same as the stupid remark from Mr. Hunt. Funny how a A.net crew member has the right to make claims on who a member is even when they have the right to hide their e-mail and real name.

Yes I know what you mean, but there’s nothing you can do about it right? I would stop complaining if I were you. It’s not necessary. And the fact that that the news is negative is irrelevant. Besides, what kind of news do you expect to come out of the local aviation industry in Hong Kong at this time? Positive or negative? The answer is obvious…..

I don’t know what Mr. Hunt said, but I never accused you of being anyone else, but just that judging from your posts, you remind of Hkgspotter1 who recently left a.net. That’s all!  Smile

Hmm...either this particular member here lacks originality, or he's really the other member under a new username.

Not that I have any issues with that, as a free for all forum, the occasional irritants are expected and should be tolerated.

Just making full use of my freedom of speech in this forum... and back to the topic at hand.... I do not see anything wrong with the original post. The poster was merely stating facts (he usually doesn't have his own opinions), so I really don't see how that can be construed as speaking negative comments and untruth about your beloved country. Similarly, I wouldn't jump if facts were presented about my national carrier and airport.

I see you put your age down as 26-35years, do try to act your age a little ya?

There's always a better way to fly...

Well, KA has canned all it's flights to Japan anyway, and Cathay has drastically cut it's routes there too.

Not a big surprise, considering the panic that is going on at this time. The earliest they figure capacity will recover again is in the summer months, when the bug is expected to pass.

It's the same in Singapore too, everyone is feeling the pinch. With the war in Iraq on top of that, commercial aviation these days is cursed, it seems.
