Royal Jordanian Uses F Regs?

I have a picture taken at London Heathrow in July 2002 of a Royal Jordanian A310-300 with registration F-ODVI (Princess Haya). Why does RJ use this reg? I thought F was France. The aircraft was in airline service so it can't have been an Airbus Industrie pre-delivery reg.
Thanks for any answers.
Adrian.

the "O" represents "Overseas" (or outre-mer in French). Presumably there's some leasing arrangement by Airbus and one condition is that the aircraft must be placed on the French register.

Yeah, you see this too with some long-defunct airline that operated A300's in the US back in the '80's...can't think of the name of it to save my life...

I got my head checked--by a jumbo jet
