Hello everyone,

a few days ago my following contrail picture was added to the database

I asked for a little help with the left aircraft type and got many many emails from a.net members/photographers. Thanks for all of them.

But, there were three different answers in the following order A330, B777 and B767... No one was quite sure, so I thought it might be a good idea to post a topic about this here. Maybe we can find the answer together... I'm really interested in it...

For myself, I would vote for the A330 after several emails from you.

Thanks for all your help in advance...

Greetings
Tobi

The left aircraft is an A330. I'm sure (but only 50%  Wink/being sarcastic ). If you look at the left wing you can see a reflection. I think this reflection is the refl. of a winglet/wingtip. -> and so its an A330

Great photo! When I first saw it I thought it was a 757, but now I'd go for a 767.

First of all, great picture. I love contrail shots.

I'd have to say the left aircraft is definitely the A330. The wingspan looks it....

The aircraft on the left is an A330. You can see the small glare reflection from the sun coming off of the startboard winglet.

Hi Tobi,

sorry when I get off topic but how was your trip to PDX? Do you write a trip report about the LH inaugural flight to PDX and did you take pictures?

Patrick

Hi Patrick,

yes I took a lot of pictures, some very special and amazing ones... I'm postprocessing them in the moment... Landed in HAM today in the morning...
Well, the pictures that will not accepted on a.net I'll post them here in the forum...

The trip was great... but no gifts for economy :-( But a very friendly crew and a warm welcome in Portland incl. water canon...

A330-200

Does look like a 767, but that winglet is reflecting off the sun.

I am glad that you liked your trip to the USA, I can`t wait to see the pictures! You can tell me more about the flights and your stay in the States on May 3rd when we meet at FRA.

Because I flew not back the same day, not even from PDX... I flew PDX-SEA on Horizon Air, SEA-JFK on United and then JFK-FRA on Lufthansa... Was a really great trip...

More photos and maybe a detailed report coming soon  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Greetings
