I've seen the new A321s for MEA. They are the first aircraft bought by the airline since 30 years. But why are they still bearing french registration? Should'nt it be OD?

Have they been bought by MEA or are they financed through Airbus? If the latter is true, they may have to keep them French registered as part of the terms and conditions of the financing.

The new A321-231's will be registered F-O--- and this has to do with the
financial/legal structure of the deal even if the planes were ordered by
MEA.
Leased planes can have local registrations like Emirates 777-300's
leased from ILFC and SALE with A6- reg , and owned planes can have
foreign registrations when their country of origin has some kind of
financial or legal risk
