EasyJet will have up to 22 flights a day from Malaga this summer, including 15 from London airports.

Rumour has it that EasyJet will commence based operations from Malaga next summer upon commencement of domestic spanish operations from Malaga to Bilbao, Madrid, Barcelona and Palma. Non UK Destinations will also include Paris, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Milan, Geneva and Zurich.

This Summer EasyJet will be Spains seventh largest carrier, and plan on being number 3 by Summer 2005, after Iberia and Spanair and Number 2 by 2006.

GREAT!!!

2nd domestic low-fare carrier in Spain! first is air-Berlin with BCN-PMI, and now Easy jet!
I don't know why any spanish carrier started low cost ops. before, it's a huge market!, but in the domestic side, Iberia and Spanair are offering very cheap one-way tickets (24 and 30 € each way).

Iberia opened Viva many years ago - they tried, but closed it due to union pressure... Viva were a great leisure airline, based around ALC and AGP..... Ten years before the low cost boom....

When IB want to - they can do great things.... just look at their current fleet replacements and the renewed focus on Latin America. (and dont even dream at looking at their stupidity of buying into Aerolineas Argentinas or Viasa)

Malaga is my second home so needless to say I am pleased!
I wonder If Spanair can lower their fares at all now!

I doubt easyJet will ever enter the AGP-AMS market as this market is already well served by Transavia (Basiqair and scheduled charter) and Dutchbird (scheduled charter). Moreover, easyJet tends not to compete with Transavia and where they do they've lost (Transavia has beaten easyJet in both the AMS-NCE and AMS-BCN market).

Deskdriver, Bestwestern is correct. On Saturday easyJet flies
- 4 times LGW-AGP
- 5 times LTN-AGP
- 5 times STN-AGP
- 2 times BRS-AGP
- 2 times EMA-AGP
- 3 times LPL-AGP
Total 21 times from the UK including 14 times from London
