Unlike the BBJ 1, which has a B737-800 wing mounted on a -700 fuselage and therefore is a very specific type on its own, the A319CJ can be easily converted into a regular A319 with extra range provided by the ACT(s). It's just a matter of replacing the VIP or corporate (up to 58 passengers - business seats) interior with regular seats.
The idea of Airbus was to retain as much commonality as possible between the A319CJ and the A319 to keep a high residual value to the aircraft.

Qatar Airways is now one of few airlines that have fifth freedom rights out of China. The others are:
Iran Air: TEH-BJS-ICN-BJS-TEH
Singapore Airlines Cargo: SIN-XMN-Nanjing-ORD (not sure of the return routing as it’s via Europe)
I question Qatar's intent to commence DOH-PVG direct at this time, considering the SARS outbreak in China. I think a few cases have been reported in Shanghai but it's likely that the Chinese government is under-reporting the actual number of cases there, but as it's a 1x weekly flight, I think they should do okay on that route. Maybe they could’ve added a 3rd weekly DOH-PVG-ICN-PVG-DOH flight instead?
Great news for PVG, it’s growing fast as a major hub.
