Just out of curiosity, do you think this should be repainted back into "new" ATA colours when the paint job wears off, or should it be repainted once again in the old pattern?
I mean it is an original work of art, similar to the two Calder planes that Braniff had in their hey-day.

Now that is a work of art. It should never be repainted! And 2 thumbs up to David Campbell for a great photo!!

Does anyone think this colour scheme is better than the new one?

Hey Jay: How about you start linking to your photo on this site, rather than trying to advertise it on another site?
Oh, wait... You're only shamelessly plugging your photo for the 287th time, so you don't really care.
I'm surprised the mods on Airliners.net haven't set up a filter to redirect your jetphotos link to the exact same photo on Airliners.net.

I find it hilarious that despite this sarcastic post Jay still manages to plug his photo, even if he himself is being sarcastic! Oh well the pic is growing on me...but why don't you post the link to the a.net db???

Yeah, sarcasm all right !!
I am tired of this subject of me plugging my shot, even if it is on a different web site.
I had a VALID question and subject matter, now some "yahoo" thinks he'll be funny and sarcastic and starts another thread...........
If he wants to open the gate for me to "plug" my photo, why not have some fun at his expense?
I'm not even going to get into the jealousy part again, but I still think there is some out there about this photo..............
Here it is on the Airliners.net site................

On a side note, perhaps you should petition both Peter Max and George Mikelsons for an ATA Peter Max scheme. I'm sure it'd make for a nice looking 737-800, already a nice looking plane.

Why would anybody be jealous of a photo that is so generic, it is possibly to find photos that are virtually identical (except with better exposure) in the a.net database?
All it proves is that you aren't as good at judging exposure as other photographers, or that you rely on your equipment to do it and it let you down.

Who made you the expert on exposure settings?
What other photo do you have to compare my shot to?
Yes, there is Joe Pries' shot, but it was digital and I am
sure there is a difference with the exposures of film versus digital.
I think that you sir, are jealous and will continue to remain jealous about that shot. If you think you are such a good photographer, lets see some of your work.
As for my equipment, I own a Canon EOS 1VHS with professional lenses.
The Canon 28-70 f-2.8, Canon 70-200 f-2.8, Canon 85 f-1.8 and the
Canon 1.4x and Canon 2x converters. I really don't think my equipment
let me down at all. I think I nailed that shot quite nicely. I then even
used Adobe Photoshop 7.0 to scan it and save it...........
What equipment do you have?
By the way, you've got a wonderful and fully working web site listed
under your information........... Not !!

Yeah, I thought it was hysterical too.
Someone goofy enough to post a subject where I could "plug" my photo once again. How stupid was that?

"I am sure there is a difference with the exposures of film versus digital."
A correct exposure is a correct exposure, whether it is shot on film or digital.
"By the way, you've got a wonderful and fully working web site listed

I choose not to list my sites under the information. However, I run two sites on my personal server that total around 2000 active users, and work full-time for a third site which is in the top 10,000 busiest sites on the Internet according to Alexa.
The link in your profile, though, yields a 404 error - so you have no grounds to be criticising anybody else on this issue.

Well; good laughs had by all, but this thread is going nowhere. (Can't expect much more from a joke, I guess). So I am archiving it. If you guys wish to debate photographic methods, do so in the photo forum. If you want to argue about who has the better website, do so in the non-av forum. This forum is for civil aviation discussion, not for personal attacks OR for plugging of photos on competeing websites. Everyone is hereby warned!
