Other than American and United what other restructuring is going on?

I don't hear anything about pilots at Delta or contenting being asked for reductions in pay. Or the flight attendants at northwest being asked for contract changes.

Have I just missed this stuff.

Are all airlines looking for reductions in pay and work rule changes right now, or is it just American and United?

No, probably because AA and UA pay their employees the most.

Over the past month or more, I have seen headlines that speak of Northwest seeking concessions from labor. The pilots have been mentoned specifically. Inasmuch as I have only skimmed the articles, I have no details on the amount NW management is looking to trim from its labor costs (except that it seems to be a very substantial amount) and from which groups. From the tone of recent headlines, I would surmise that talks between management and labor are ongoing.

Continental has been trimming its labor costs through job reductions, as much as possible through attrition, early retirements and voluntary leaves.

Alaska, by contrast, continues to expand and take delivery of new aircraft, hiring as needed to meet additional staffing needs created by growth of the fleet and network. There is no talk of labor being asked to make concessions.

Actually, DL's pilots are higher paid than UA's....

****

Also, Hawaiian is restructuring... but more in its fleet/route system than its labor units.

concordeboy,
yah, your right they made like .10 more than UAL pilots. Leap frogging contracts, but then again that's why were in the position were in.

Is there a reason your Concorde boy, and not man?
