A couple who live near a RAF Airbase have been awarded £950,000 in damages due to aircraft noise.

Now anyone who lives near any airport will be seeing their lawyers, probably including the people who moved there after the airports were built .

Talk about it! For ZRH, there is a big fight going on with Germany as they complain to have too much noise from landing aircraft. Those who complain are approx. 700 in numbers while those newly affected with the new approach procedures etc. are about 50000!!! What a joke!!! I've completely lost my confidence in the politicians who agreed to stop flying the normal and well proven approach paths!  Pissed

People cannot just get the concept that if they move near an airport, they will get noise. If they don't like it. MOVE!!!!!!!!!

There are plenty of houses being built near ZRH airport, most of them even under the approach path! Land's cheap though...
This is something I cannot understand! I hope there will be a law soon to force the owners to sign a piece of paper preventing them from complaining!
Arrrgggghhh...!!!!  Pissed

There's an old saying that goes like this: "Everyone wants a short drive to the airport, but nobody wants an airport in their backyard". People can't have it both ways. It's tough luck if it's too noisy. The majority of airports are older than most of the houses in that area so people knew an airport was there but they decided to move there anyway. Sounds pretty pathetic to me bitching about a problem they got themselves into. Plus they probably got their houses cheaper anyway as it is close to an airport.

I love aircraft noise  Smile  Smile  Smile  Smile

I think the RAF should just send a rocket right into their house. I could just see it, it's 2 am, the lady's hangin' out the window screaming at the harrier to quiet down! Hah! I hate people like that lady.
