"We are very glad to be adding this beautiful 777 to our growing fleet," said Nguyen Xuan Hien, president of Vietnam Airlines Corporation. "Our passengers will be most impressed with our new 777 service, and we are certain that having the brand new, technologically advanced 777 in our fleet will allow us to be most competitive in satisfying our passenger demands."

It's not very often an airline makes an a/c sound like a slice of heaven. I like it when they do though!

It's very nice! I was very lucky that I went to Paine Field yestarday to get a pic of it before it was delivered.
Singarpore_Air: your links don't work.

The flag you see on the tail is the flag of Vietnam; it's still the old communist flag, but it doesn't look too out of place. It's a sign of things moving on. Indeed, Singapore Air's comment reminds me that the airline was once called (and forgive the spelling) Hang Kong Vietnam. I remember this well, because initially, I wondered if they were advertising new flights between HK and Vietnam! The aircraft was a 707, operated from '81 to about '86.
It must be quite something for those pilots now flying (or converting to) 777s, given that only ten years ago, they were probably flying Tu134s or even IL18s. Good for them!
Does anyone know what routes this aircraft will be operated on?

You're right, DIA, you don't often hear an airline waxing poetic about a new acquisition. One could almost imagine Mr. Xuan Hien had tears in his eyes as he said it; he's bordering on getting emotional. Nothing wrong with that, though.

Singapore_Air: thanks for your nice comments. Hope to build a new, improved version soon but it may take a while to get finished.
Kaitak: The VN 777 will initially be operated on SGN-HAN and SGN-NRT and when they get the second plane in June, they will start nonstop flights from both HAN and SGN, three days a week each. SGN-NRT will resume when they get their third aircraft in August. Haven't seen any other routes in the CRS yet.

Rupertvander, there were strong rumors that when President Phan Van Khai of Vietnam signed the purchase of 5 A321s and while visiting France, there was an LoI signed for 5 A340s. Who knows....
BTW guys, its HANG KHONG VIET NAM.
They are looking to start flights to Moscow SVO via Beijing using an A320 or A321 but I dont think they have started due to some government approval problems. Currently Aeroflot serves Hanoi using IL96s.

Hello 777man,
I did in fact post a thread on the interior settings of these new VN B777s but the pics were no longer being hosted.
But basically they are 3 class-- Business, Premium (Deluxe) and Economy. Good idea actually. The exact numbers of seat in each class, I do not know, sorry.
I didn't know they also fly to Moscow with their B763 nonstop now but nothing surprising. They have 8 B767s now!!!

IF i am not wrong their economy seating configuration is 3-3-3 . Their new livery certainly looks great on the 777 . Which routes will the 777 fly to ?
