I came across the Transport Aircraft Corporation website by accident http://www.aso.com/dealer_listing/DealerListing.jsp?dealer_id=6543 .

To my surprise 5 B777s are listed for sale. Anyone knows who the sellers are?

Also check out the prices of the 2nd hand B747s & DCF10s.

Dont believe they are the same aircraft, however Boeing is marketing for sale 2 ex British Airways B777's that are currently on lease with Khalifa. I also believe Air China was looking to shed some its B777's.

These Khalifa 777s are sitting idle at FRA since 2 months!

The airliners listed are from 1999 to 2001. The ex BA B777s are much older, and are the non ER type. I think these aircrafts must come from one of the US Airlines, either American or United. I find it interesting that there are any B777s for sale at all.

Neither AA nor UA is selling its B777 (although UA will be parking a few).

Could it be Emirates? They wanted to sell their 777s when the newer ones come in. The building dates though don´t support my theory.
I could really see UA being behind it. They need money, why shouldn´t they sell aircraft that have a good chance to be picked up quickly? Some of their 777s are owned by Boeing anyway as I heard.

Emirates 's B777 are leased from ILFC and the newer one coming in will be purchased directly from Boeing .

Could be Lauda. They tried to sell one last year fresh out of the factory.

LN-MOW,

Lauda's 3 777-200ERs are from 1997, '98 and 2002.

Still unsure who these are from.

Yeah, as someone else said,
The BA 777s that were sold were 1995 examples.
777A's as they are sometimes known...

BA will be putting up its other 3 A's at some point
