Is there any logic to the different colours of the Air2000 titles?

Notice that one is G-OOBC and one is G-OOBD, maybe AMM decided to swap in-between painting those two??  Sad

Bring back the old colours!

I was wondering the same thing. As far as I can make out its just random which ones have the green titles and which get the red titles. No idea why they chose to do this, however it's always nice to have a bit of variety I guess.

When I first saw the different colours, I first thought perhaps 757 fleet green, A320 fleet red, and 767 blue but thats not true. I don't think any aircraft have blue do they? Probably just variety, looks nice.
About the website, I was wondering when they'd launch the new one considering the livery has been around for a while now? Also, does anyone know if any of the older aircraft have the new interiors with the leather seats? have they all been refitted?

The website was relaunched to coinside with the start of the summer 2003 season. AMM are progressively fitting out their fleet with new interiors, don't know which a/c have it yet though, apart from the new deliveries.

The red colour scheme is the final one that they will all receive, it was thought the blue was difficult to read.

Ahhh By738, thats pretty logical actually, I had thought that when seeing the scheme before. I'm flying with them in the summer BHX-TFS and would love to be on one of the brand new 757s, although I doubt they'll see BHX  Sad, so the best I can hope for is a new interior.
On a side note, the new website is nice and fresh, but is basically the old one with the new c/s, same structure etc..
Are those cheap flights advertised on it from MAN schedueled (DP) or just cheaper rate charter tickets??

The red scheme is not the final one - both red and green schemes are being applied to the fleet simultaneously. G-OOBC and G-OOBD were delivered one day apart in different schemes. The last 2 A321s (G-OOAH and G-OOAV) and the last B757 (G-OOOC) to be repainted also have green titles. The few airpcraft repainted prior to those have red titles, but the first B757s to be repainted had green titles.

The new B757s will probably be regular visitors to Birmingham this summer - there are 2 different galley standards on the B757 fleet, the BHX base is planned to have the catering standard corresponding to the newer equipment.

Bad news is several aircraft have to old interior, either because they will be leaving the fleet in the next few months, or because the aircaft hasn't been through heavy maintenance to get the work done. And as I'm sure you know external livery and cabin refurbishment don't occur at the same time - so what paint scheme the plane is in isn't a guide to it's interior! However all aircraft delivered since the start of 2002 have leather seats, and most other aircraft have been refurbished...

The new high frequency flights are charters but operate like scheduled flights - no fixed durations, one way fares, ticketless travel.

Still think all newly repainted aircraft will appear with red titles. Both newly repainted 767's have the red titles. If it was a mix then one would be green/blue, then other red. We will see when the third is done

By738 - Trust me...

The B767s were reapainted in February. Since then both G-OOOC and G-OOBD were repainted with green titles.

The third B767 (G-OOAM) will not be repainted in the new livery. It has already operated it's final air2000 flight and is at Luton for it's end of lease checks. It will be repainted and delivered to Aeroflot next month.

The aircraft is being replaced with additonal B757s

What I'm telling you is based on facts rather than guesswork  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Do you know if G-OOOG and G-OOOU are still in the Air 2000 fleet.

If so, what is their status?
Have they been repainted and fitted with new interiors?

The reason I ask is, I flew on them back in 1993.
I'm flying with AMM in the summer, NCL to Mahon.
So I might end up on the same aircraft again.

G-OOOU is no longer in the fleet, it is now TF-ARI with Excel Airways/Air Atlanta.
G-OOOG is still in the fleet, but is only planned to be used as a back-up aircraft for the Summer,

G-OOAS and G-OOAT have been placed on the Canadian register because they are now crewed by Skyservice pilots, based at Belfast and Luton. G-OOOC will be crewed by Skyservice pilots and based at Dublin...

Most of the fleet now have both the new livery and the new interior with leather seats, and the B757 fleet is now much younger due to fleet renewal over the last 12 months.
