Question About SWA Seen At MSP

Just curious if anyone had any ideas why saw an SWA 737 landing at MSP about a month ago? Of course my mind started hoping that maybe, just maybe we might start seeing SWA service in the Twin Cities but alas, no news yet. Any light shed on this would be appreciated.

Supposedly it was a sports charter. Also I wouldnt look to see WN at MSP any time soon.

Thanks for the input! I didn't expect to see WN here as this is NWA country. If I see one more red tail... ha ha. Well at least they have introduced that new livery, something different to look at.

I hope Virgin heads to MSP. Richard, the owner is looking into more US destinations for direct competition. I bet NWA wouldn't let them use the gates at MSP though!!!

Interestingly enough, this article was published in this Sunday's Minneapolis Star Tribune. Although it doesn't say WN or JetBlue (or any other low cost carrier) are definitely looking at MSP, industry analyst seem to think it may be ripe for the picking for one of these airlines. Enter small then expand to compete with NWA or many routes.
