Hi

I have just looked on BHX.co.uk and seen that there is a service today from Birmingham to London City Airport. can anyone clarify what airline is flying this route and if it is a regular service.

Regards

Monarch

It will be a BACitiExpress RJ100 positioning flight. TH is their code.

It'll be "irregular" as the RJ100s could position in from any airport but I forgot that even the Flightline and Titan 146s used the TH code so it could conceivably be them. I'm surprised they even put it on the departures page given that no passengers will be on board.

Sometimes our BY positioning flights make it onto the terminal screens, particularly arriving ones at LGW (e.g. BY992F from Luton!). On the other side of the coin all winter @ LGW our arriving weekly flight from Tenerife North displayed without an origin, causing widespread confusion. Apparently TFN / GCXO was not recognised by the computer which translates the flight data onto the arrival screens.  Insane

My mum called after I operated one such flight and said "Oh yes, I saw you coming in from nowhere this afternoon".

Who knows how they decide what does and doesn't go on those bloody screens!

I used to love the smell of Jet-A in the morning...

I've seen some of the MAN based light aircraft (and the Police Islander) posted on the departures board, with them going to MAN. I'm sure that "Mystery Tour" is used when someone can't work out the destination.

Reckon BHX is too close to London for any services, and I'm sure I read that the long-term forecast is for MAN-London services to be reduced to that of feeder flights only, with the majority of passengers going by rail.
