Delta @ DFW Question

Does anybody know what has happened to Delta's gates at DFW? With their recent schedule change, mainline flights are down to around 60-65, while total flights including Delta Connection are up to around 275.

Are Delta Connection flights using the main terminal gates? Are the gates equipped to handle RJs? Or are many of these gates sitting empty while all the RJs crowd around the satellite terminal? Is Delta still paying for any unused gates?

Delta has, I believe, gates 8-38 in Terminal E. That's a lot of gate space for only 60+ mainline flights.

I dont know the specifics but I do know that the main terminal gates are not equipped to handle RJs, and the RJs just use the satillite terminal. I'm pretty sure that Delta has vacated a couple gates towards the end of terminal E...by the Northwest and AirTran gates.

I believe that Delta mainline nows uses either 1-8 or 30-38. Delta Connection uses all of the rest.

Delta is E7-E38, with E22-E30 being the satellite terminal for the Commuters (ASA,Skywest,Comair). Delta still scatters those aircraft over all of the gate ranges I was just their Monday, its alos funny to see M88's and 757's at E12-14 which yuse to be the Widebody section.

There are strong rumors that CO "might" move over to Terminal E since DL and NW are already over there, if their planned alliance goes through. If so, I don't know if F9 and HP would move over there also as CO handles both of these companies operations at DFW.

Plans are to move some RJ ops to the main terminal. RJs can use the same jetways as the bigger aircraft,no big deal.

RJ's are already set up now at the main terminal. The schedule change of April 6 implemented the changes. There are about 5 or 6 gates that RJ's now use on the main side of Concourse E. Mainline uses 7-20, and a few gates at the end (at least gate 37 and 38).
