Taking a look into the recently published Embraer EMB-170 order book they come up with 73 firm orders for the -170. My data however shows 79:

Swiss: 15
GECAS: 50
Air Caraibes: 2
LOT: 6
Alitalia: 6

Anyone able to confirm that the AZ contract is still pending? BTW, rumours are floating that LX might cancel the remaining EMBs on order or at least will deffer them again.

Flight International has an article in the 1-7 april issue about the deferral of the Swiss aircraft.

From the article:

Attention is now focused on Alitalia Express conducting route proving for the 170. The carrier will be launch operator following the Swiss deferral.
Alitalia says its first aircraft is due to be delivered at the end of august-around three months later than scheduled.

Alitalia has a firm order for the EMB-170. They signed it together with a further order for 6 ERJ-145LR last year when they boosted their Exoress division with a 15 new aircraft order (the other 3 being ATR72-500 already delivered).

The Embraer 170/175s that will be flying as US Airways, operated by Mid Atlantic, are the GECAS orders. Also keep in mind, they will fly as "US Airways" NOT "US Airways Express."

OuBoy79,

I have heard directly from Embraer that the planes will be flown by mainline pilots & FAs...

LOT placed the order for 10 ERJ-170, 6 to be delivered in 2004 and 4 a year later. On top of that LOT has the options for 11 more of 170/190/195.

.. but will very likely trade in at least 6 ERJ-145 for them. And there are only 6 firm orders, four of them will be leased from GECAS, already ordered some three years ago (making this the first EMB-170 leasing deal for GECAS).

And no, US Airways still has to sign a deal for EMB-170/175s, neither does a LoI´/MoU nor firm orders exist.

The contract LOT signed says about 10 ERJ-170 firm orders. Nothing about leasing some of them from GECAS and nothing about trading in ERJ-145.

Well,

LOT order is about 6 aircrafts (new orders) plus 4 from GECAS order (and plus 11 options).

And Mr. Flying-Tiger is right. There is no contract or LoI for USAirways... but this contract is close to be a reality.

2 Embraer 170 could be acquired by PBAir (leased from GECAS order).

And Embraer is negotiating another big 170/175 contract.

Vector,

as far as I know the US Airways order is supposed to be mostly consisting of leased EMB-170/175s leased from GECAS (which would mean that GECAS either has to convert some EMB-170 orders into 175s or has to place new orders by converting options).

The PB Air order is on ice according to my information, as they currently have no need for them, the ERJ-145 are sufficient for now.

Do you mean the Star Alliance contract with the large contract under negotiation? Or the Qantas/British Airways deal?
