El Al has finalized their schedules for their re-launch to Miami and O'Hare, replacing the current North American sub-services.
From Chicago O'Hare, LY 27 will operate twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays. It will depart Tel Aviv at 0001, arriving in Newark at 0520. It will then depart Newark at 0710 and arrive in O'Hare at 0900*. It will turnaround as LY 28 back to Newark at 1030, arriving in Newark at 1340. On the ground for only one hour, the flight leaves at 1440 and gets into Tel Aviv at 0805 the next day.
*Seems to be a little mix-up in the schedule. It is scheduling the EWR-ORD/ORD-EWR legs as if they were EWR-MIA/MIA-EWR legs.
From Miami, there will be two schedules. LY 27 will operate on Sundays, leaving Tel Aviv at 0001, into Newark at 0520. Departs for MIA at 0710 and arrives at 1000. The return, LY 28, leaves MIA at 1130, into Newark at 1420, on the ground for an hour until 1520, and then off for an 0840 arrival in Tel Aviv the next day.
Tuesday flights will operate as LY 1 leaving Tel Aviv at 0100, into JFK at 0605, leaves JFK at 0805, into MIA at 1055. The jet will then sit at MIA until 1905, when LY 8 leaves for JFK at 2155, and leaving for Tel Aviv at 2355 with an arrival the next day at 1715.
All flights will be 777-200s.
O'Hare and Miami spotters, how nice it will be to see El Al back on a regular basis!

Unlike MIA, ORD is a disaster for LY.
Im pretty sure that this wont sustained for long, ORD should be kept under codeshare with AC until things improve and a nonstop 762 service can be started again.
MIA should become nonstop anyway, its a good destination for LY, but poor LY management can not see that (In the US they know only JFK..)
Anyway, it would be very hard for LY to operate with these relatively short turnarounds.

When I was at MIA in Feb LY's flight from JFK was operated by North American 738. Was the crew from LY or North American? I noticed that the security was tight before its arrival at the gate. I'm sure they'll do well .

You were right about North American Airlines will be pulled out for end this summer time and I just came in with the news list on the www.justplanes.com for today. So here it is:
Will stop using North American Airlines to operate its feeder services into Chicago and Miami at the end of the summer season in Oct03. Instead the airline will operate its own aircraft. Chicago will be served twice a week with a Boeing 777-200 via Newark on Mondays and Wednesdays ; Miami will be served twice a week as well with a Boeing 777-200 via New York JFK on Tuesdays and via Newark on Sundays.
