I can never get my hands on this kind of information normally, so if someone can help me I would appreciate it!The flights I am interested in should depart from either EGKK or EGCC. If you could choose a destination in this region (budgeting for 500 GBP ish for 14nts) from experience, where would you go?
Also does anyone know who EAL provide flights for (tour company wise)? It would be great to get on one of their 747's.I assume they mainly fly into Orlando?

Just had a week in La Romana and it is beautiful, would highly recommend the Dominican Republic. But of your list Puerto Vallarta is by far my favourite, went on holiday there in October 2002 (with Air 2000, trip report in the relevant forum) and it was awesome, would definately return.
The AMM flight to PVR (from LGW) runs year round and in Summer is the AMM048C / AMM048D leaving LGW at 08:00 on a Monday morning.
Cancun is nice but very touristy, PVR is much more "real Mexico". Barbados is much of a muchness in my opinion, am bored of Orlando so won't comment on that one.

Its funny you should say that as I really fancy Puerto Vallarta, however a couple of my friends are not too sure about Mexico. How long is the flight to PV, and what did you think of the Pacific Coast?
DC-10Levo is that a A330 service in June do you know?

Puerto Vallarta is recommended, especially if you stay in the old section of town. The hotels may not be as modern, but you definitely get the local flair. Lots of great restaurants with great prices!
The airport there is small but interesting. While I saw a few Aeromexico, Mexicana, and Aero California jets, the largest player seemed to be Alaska Airlines! AS has several flights a day to SFO, SEA, LAX, etc. A lot of planes use remote stands on the tarmac, which allowed for several quick photos when we deplaned.

Trust me, you would love PVR it is fantastic. Whilst tourism is making its way there in droves, the charm of a more traditional Mexico is ever apparent. Cobbled streets, local markets etc... Very nice beach especially to the South of the resort, nowhere near as nice as the beach in Cancun but then it feels like being in the USA on the beach there (full of American students and McDonalds / Hard Rock Cafe etc.. everywhere you look). That is the impression I always get anyway.
The AMM flight to PVR is 15-16 hours with a stop in SFB for fuel when you get 45 mins - 1 hr to stretch your legs. Return trip is direct, scheduled to take 11 hours but we did it in around 9.5 hours with a strong tailwind. Upgrade to Classic Premium is available with more legroom and free drinks. Found the economy legroom ok though but I am only 5ft 7"!
I personally found Mexico a delight everywhere we went and the people were very friendly. If you're big on nice beaches but don't want the hard rock cafes everywhere then the Dominican Republic would be a good choice too (resorts near LRM or POP).

We are planning a big holiday since we have all just turned 21, and my friends will be celebrating after finishing their degrees, all except me that is (although I will have hopefully passed all 14 written Atpl's!)
Are Air 2000 the only airline to serve PV out of the British Carriers? We want somewhere slightly on the lively side, but not too touristy. Puerto Vallarta sounds like a safe bet, but may work out slightly more expensive then the Dominican republic. Also as I am 6ft 1 the prospect of a 14hr flight (to pv) on a cramped 767 does not appeal to me all that much!I could cope with a A330 a little better (I haven't flown on one yet and the camera views via the PTV sound cool)
I also fancy going to Florida again, the prices are superb (that would be the main reason) however, we have to take out extra car insurance as we are under 25. The added bonus of a 747 ride makes at also very appealing
