One of my friends commented that US Airways in its present scheme is the ugliest thing she ever saw.

Personally I like the scheme. I think it looks best when surrounded by other US Airways aircrafts. A line of red tipped tails is quite a site.

In any event she is in love schemes like Air Jamiaca.

What do you think?

One of the best liveries i've seen, a change from the usual white, blue or red airlines use these days. The US 330's simply look awesome!!!

fyi--

The new livery was introduced in early 1997
As of two weeks ago, the last operating aircraft in the old livery was repainted. Therefore now all operating (not retired, or stored) are in the new livery. It took 6 years, fairly standard for repainting.

A very good livery indeed, specially for the A330, it looks absolutely stunning in US Airways colours.

I think it's a great livery - very distinct. Classy, yet not boring.

US Airways color scheme is nicer than the old 80's scheme....although I liked the old USAir scheme.

The US livery doesn't have any dark blue in it, nor any red apart from the cheatline. Very distinct, not many airlines use an all-black colour scheme like US does, so it is a change from all the all-white, red or blue colours airlines splash on their planes.

Personally i can't wait to see a US Airways plane in the Star Alliance scheme. Only because it would be the first time they promote on there planes Big grin.... but other then that i like the US Airways livery and also, I think it would be mad tight if they painted an A330 in the old silver colors just for fun.

What do you mean it doesn't have any dark blue in it? The entire top half of the planes and tail is dark blue. There's no black to speak of. I like the shades of blue and gray they use - they fit well together and look sharp.

I'm sure we can all agree that it is MUCH better than their previous livery.

It's one of my favorite schemes out there. How does she see that it's ugly? I also liked the scheme before it, with the bare metal & USAir in red & blue, BTW.

It isn't black, it is a dark shade of blue. Believe me, I live in Philly. I have seen hundreds of their planes. It is not black, just like AC's tail isn't black, but Forest Green.

I like the US livery but I would not call it distictive. Steven Wolf was responcible for it after he left UA. He had just re liveried UA planes. Look at the two. Gray on top blue on the bottom UA, Blue on top gray on the bottom US. The collors are not exact because that would have caused lawsuits, but the similarity screams Steven Wolf's influence.

FYI has anyone got a pic of the 767 with the pain peeling from the top of the fuselage. Tackiest thing I ever saw for a plane representing the airline on International routes.

My best guess is that maybe the aircraft yesterday was a bit dirty... and we were looking at it with the sun behind it so u get the shadow..

Added to that she works with Air Jamiaca and it so colorful.. too colorful for my taste.. so she is a bit predjudiced there.

Side note.....we usually get A319's and that was our first A320.. I was so estatic

Interesting point there UALPHLCS...now that I picture US and UA's schemes they are "similar but different"...never realized there was any plausible connection though...

UALPHLCS--I did notice that today when I was walking around the new Int'l terminal. I agree completely. I actually fly a 767 home later this week, so it will be interesting to see if it has the same wear & tear.

UAPHLCS--

Isn't it funny how a lot of people have never noticed that?

The Wolf had a hardon for the color combination of blue and grey. They are my two favorite colors as well, but his obvious affection for them was/is a little scary.

Also note the similarities in interiors -- predominantly grey (UA will change eventually with full implemenation of the new interiors Decor 5.5 and Decor 5.6).

25 DeltaRules : N656US is/was peeling on the left side toward the back, too. That was in April 2002, so they may have fixed it, but it looked just like what's going o
26 Post contains images UN_B732 : The old livery looks horrible. But the current livery is great -Transaero Boeing 737-200
27 Noise : This livery looks awsome! One of my favorites for sure. It looks amazing on the Airbuses!
28 Post contains images N751PR : I liked both of the liveries but the current one looks so good with a A330.
29 Nwacrew : The US Airways livery reminds me of Royal Jordanian: a very dark fuselage with a strip of red at the top of the tail...
30 La Carlota : Simply beautiful!! Far from ordinary. Nice looking especially on Airbuses (A-320, A-330) and on B-767's!!!
31 Post contains images 747-451 : US Airways' livery is beautiful and dignified. POn the other hand Northwest's new livery is disgusting, reminding one of those cheesy liveries on Euro
32 Post contains images USAIRWAYS321 : Just for the record, the dark blue that US Airways uses was designed specifically for the company and is dubbed 'US Blue.' Also for the record, I saw

34 Captaink : Yeah i see that discolored patch on a lot of their aircarfts... it seems like the jetways are doing a number on the scheme.
35 BWIA 772 : I must say that US airways has a very nice scheme as well as Air Jamaica. Jamaica is very nice and colourful where as Us airways is quite subdued and
36 Gr8slvrflt : Does anyone know why the Rochester, NY Bus System (RGRTA) has the EXACT same US Airways color scheme on their busses? DCA-ROC?
37 UALPHLCS : They have one particular 767 where it must be 5 feet of paint has peeled off ust above the Lettering on the starboard side. Not the prt jetway side. S
